Project Description

This project saw the construction of a 325,000 SF hospital on an 89-acre campus, including a 24-hour full-service Emergency Department with 32 beds, Outpatient and Inpatient Surgical Services, Inpatient Medical Services, Women’s Health Department with 34 maternity/nursery beds, 60 Medical/Surgical/ICU beds with a link to OhioHealth’s eICU remote monitoring system, full Diagnostic and Imaging Center, Pharmacy, and Laboratory. The new facility also features 17 Gardens (both interior and exterior), 34 different roof levels – including reversed pitch roof systems at the main lobby and emergency department lobby – and a separate Central Energy Plant including 3-1250 kW generators.

During this extensive project, our team had 730 consecutive safe days without a lost time accident. At its peak, 288 workers were spread across the site, accumulating a total of 840,743 manhours worked. The fast-track schedule required detailed phasing and design-assist methods in order to complete the facility in 28 months. Our team developed a phasing plan that cut approximately 6 months from schedule, allowing building turnover to coincide with the receipt of $52 million of equipment, furniture, and fixtures, and the entire project was completed under original GMP.

This project utilized sustainable design practices and is a member of the Pebble Project Initiative.
