Project Description
This new 73,000 SF crisis center will fill the urgent need to address the mental health and addiction emergency Franklin County is experiencing. The facility will provide a welcoming and healing environment, but remain safe and secure for patients, visitors, and staff. The facility will feature a 23-hour observation unit, 16-bed inpatient unit, treatment rooms, staff and patient courtyards, recreation space, and administrative areas.
Immediately upon hire, Elford approached the Owner about utilizing innovative supply chain and procurement strategies to offset supply chain disruption due to the global pandemic. Key components of this strategy included utilization of design-assist subcontractors for structural steel, roofing, glass and glazing, drywall systems, mechanical and plumbing systems, and electrical systems. This strategy also included the benefits of securing a substantial portion the workforce in the current construction
market and allowed for a very aggressive pre-purchasing strategy. Key items procured early include glass and glazing components, roofing components, structural steel, prefabricated CFMF panels, all major mechanical equipment, switchgear, and a generator.
