Project Description

This project completed the construction of replacement housing for more than 30 Greek chapters. All Greek chapters are now housed in townhome-style housing with unit sizes based on chapter size and projected membership. Three sizes of townhomes are currently included in the program ranging from 4 to 18 beds, adding a total of 412 new beds to the campus.

In the summer of 2014, Elford demolished 19 buildings totaling approximately 152,000 SF. The scope also included extensive reworking of underground utilities (gas, water, sanitary, storm, steam, irrigation, tunnels, IT, electrical) on the west site while maintaining service to adjacent buildings. Beginning in summer 2015, construction commenced on the east site, the new location of Greek housing. Site work and building demolition were performed in preparation for the new buildings.

Active work on the occupied campus, including coordination of underground utilities,
proceeded without accidents or disruption to on-going academic events for the duration
of the project. This project is LEED® Gold certified.

"From the very beginning of the projects’ design and construction process, it was clear that the
Elford team was bringing a wide range of experience and a willingness to work together with BGSU. The professional manner in which your staff led our team’s approach to the project tasks and challenges, helped make the process and project a success. Together, from Elford’s senior leadership to the on-site staff, we accomplished the goal of providing our students with the on-time completion of the 426-bed Greek Housing project."
