Project Description

This project included the construction of a new 56,575 SF forensic science center for Franklin County. The building was designed to include an administrative office, training spaces, and state-of-the-art autopsy, toxicology, and instrument laboratories. This new facility gives the coroner’s office more room for equipment and the toxicology lab. The project achieved LEED Silver Certification. The new facility includes all space as required for a modern, regional type, certified Coroner’s Office including:

  • Sallyport
  • Autopsy Site: (8) BSL2 stations
  • Separate Body Cooler & Freezer (walk-in units)
  • Imaging
  • Histology Lab/Tissue Recovery
  • Investigations
  • Administrative/staff support
  • Public lobby/conference
  • Mass Casualty
  • Toxicology and Instrument Labs

Our team completed this project 4 weeks ahead of schedule in order to accommodate client request for quicker completion date for essential business due to COVID-19.

The building was designed to include an administrative office, training spaces, and state-of-the-art autopsy, toxicology, and instrument laboratories.
