Project Description

Jefferson Hall is a 4 story, 140,000 GSF building, originally constructed in 1957 and underwent an entire building renovation with goals to modernize all interior elements while respecting and maintaining the historic Georgian character. The renovation included addressing current non-conforming issues regarding ADA access and 100 year flood plain conformance.

Major mechanical and electrical systems were moved out of the basement-level garage (approx. 44,000 GSF) for upgrades to new energy efficient systems. The residence hall (approx. 80,000 GSF) upgraded resident rooms with living/learning community components including open lounges and community spaces. The existing dining hall (approx. 16,000 GSF) was reconfigured and renovated as a modern and vibrant culinary experience with a Café and Marketplace designed to serve students and faculty.
Additional space was built for a Culinary Studio to showcase live cooking demos, classes about special dietary needs, and visits from guests chefs. The project is designed for LEED® Silver certification.
