Project Description
Elford was hired as the Construction Manager to build an addition to an existing hospital. This 13,300 SF addition is designated as the Cancer Center for the hospital and includes a 1,100 SF connector from the new space to the existing hospital. The Cancer Center is home to private and semi-private infusion bays for cancer patients to receive chemotherapy treatment, exam rooms, offices for hospital staff, and a state-of-the-art linear accelerator room.
Due to great contractor buyout at the beginning of the project and management of the subcontractors throughout, Elford was able to offer up $200,000 worth of savings to the Owner 3 months prior to project completion. This allowed the owner to help cover change order costs as well as purchase additional FF&E items for the building that were not originally going to be able to be purchased due to budget constraints.
