Project Description
This project expanded and renovated facilities for The Buckeye Ranch’s residential program, including the new 40,000 SF Hope Treatment Center. The building accommodates 48 youths separated into four “neighborhoods,” and also includes four youth-in-a-crisis stabilization units in a central medical suite, as well as an administrative area for family arrivals. The design and layout is on a residential scale, providing the youth in each neighborhood with the opportunity to develop a sense of community.
In addition to the new construction, two other campus buildings were renovated. First, the existing 7,300± SF kitchen/cafeteria building was renovated to allow the dining area to also serve as an activity space for performances and other assembly functions. Second, a 4,500± SF gymnasium was renovated and expanded into a 12,000 SF educational center, providing eight classrooms, a library, multi-purpose space, and offices for the Ranch’s long-standing partner, Southwest City Schools.
