Project Description
Originally constructed in 1952, Tremont Elementary School has expanded its original building footprint through several additions over the last half-century. Due to the success of the initial phases, Elford was hired again to complete the renovation of the remaining portions of the existing building, as well as a kindergarten classroom wing addition, new media center, and relocation of the art rooms into the Phase 1 addition.
- Phase 1 12,170 SF media center and classroom additions (completed in 2016)
- Phase 2 11,500 SF gymnasium addition (completed in 2017)
- Phase 3 22,253 SF renovation to the existing building to allow for new locker rooms, cafeteria, kitchen, and main office (completed in 2017)
- Phase 4 42,900 SF renovation of the first and second floors, and a new 9,900 SF addition to the first floor. The renovation includes all new mechanical, electrical, fire suppression and technology systems, and the integration of the fire alarm and other systems throughout the building’s additional 34,300 SF
