PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Westside Early Childhood Learning Center is a two-story, 50,350 SF Pre-K learning facility that focuses on children between 3 to 5 years of age. The building features twelve classrooms, four consultation rooms, a multi-purpose space, cafeteria, full-service kitchen, indoor and outdoor playground, courtyard/outdoor classroom, indoor activity space, library, and exterior garden.

The facility also includes support spaces for a health center, teacher’s break and workrooms, administrative spaces, conference room, and an emergency storm shelter. The majority of the mechanical spaces, building and food storage, and a walk-in refrigerator is located in the basement of the facility.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project involved the construction of a new 16,656 SF Health and Human Services Building for Haywood Community College in Clyde, NC. The new state-of-the-art facility provides support to the College’s Health and Human Services programs. Academic and instructional spaces include a new simulation lab, skills lab, biology lab, 100-seat tiered lecture hall, and general classrooms.

Boston IVF is one of the largest and most experienced fertility networks in the United States, with more than 100,000 babies born since 1986. This project consisted of approximately 15,100 SF of existing core and shell space renovated into medical office space at the White Castle Office Building 2.

This project included the demolition of the existing 24,000 SF Linden Community Center, which was originally constructed in 1951, construction of the new 50,000 SF Community Center facility, and redevelopment of the 19.5 Acre park.  Elford reconstructed the new building and incorporated the bricks from the original building.  The new park features a spray ground, teaching kitchen, gymnastics room, walking paths, recording studio, full-size high school gym, medical partner space, multiple classrooms for community-wide youth learning, and a new, larger parking lot.

This project provided tenant improvement of the 4th and 5th floors. As the General Contractor, Elford delivered 54,000 SF of new drywall, acoustics, and general trades packages.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project included the installation of a new 23,000 SF 3-story structural steel-framed chiller plant wrapped in insulated metal panels and storefront glazing with an auger cast pile foundation system. The building includes chillers, pumps, controls, mechanical piping, and an electrical substation typing into the existing distribution system to support the needs of the future expansion of Ohio University’s Athens campus. The project is located in the heart of campus housing adjacent to classroom buildings.

This project for the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority included an 11,000 SF remodel of an existing 9,000 SF daycare into a 10 unit apartment complex with off street parking.

This project took what was once a 50,000 SF state-of-the-art movie theater in the Columbus Arena District and converted it into a custom office space for Nationwide Insurance’s innovation center, The CoOperative.  The new space features two levels of innovative work spaces, a research lab for user experience observations, conference rooms, a large, open main circulation area, and new windows and skylights to allow natural light to illuminate the entire office.
