Freestanding Emergency Departments – OhioHealth

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

OhioHealth Corporation is developing a network of freestanding emergency departments across central Ohio to improve care to the community. Elford constructed two emergency departments, both with a very aggressive time frame. The facilities are located in highly visible and busy traffic areas with easy access for patients/visitors. The floor plan and layout will allow cross-functional teams to be more responsive and provide a more retail patient experience.

Each building is approximately 8,800 SF and staffed by emergency physicians 24/7. The new facilities are made up of eight private patient rooms and were designed with large windows to bring in ample natural light. Services include a walk-in and ambulance entrances, a CT scanner, a pharmacy and a laboratory.
