PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Originally constructed in 1952, Tremont Elementary School has expanded its original building footprint through several additions over the last half-century. To accommodate expanding student enrollment, Elford was selected as the Construction Manager to provide construction services for a phased project. Phase I included a 12,170 SF addition on the north end of the existing building, which added five new classrooms and a media center. Phase II & III included a new 11,000 SF gymnasium addition, conversion of the old  gymnasium and locker rooms into a new cafeteria and kitchen, remodel of the old cafeteria into a new main office, as well as other miscellaneous interior renovations. All work was performed on an occupied campus and within an occupied school building. Special work hours and safety measures were enforced to keep construction traffic and activities separate from school activities to ensure a safe site for all students, staff, visitors and community members.
