PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Located on 32 acres in the suburbs of Columbus, First Community Village is comprised of a mix of Independent Living Apartments, Assisted Living Apartments, Memory Support Units, and Skilled Nursing Units. Recognizing the need to improve and expand the community, NCR selected Elford to increase the mix of larger Independent Living units through the following scope:

  • Sitework including a new entry drive, vehicular circulation, surface parking, hardscape, and landscape
  • Site amenities such as the Guide House, Miller Studio, Dovecote, stone walls, a fitness and wellness area, and signage
  • Demolition of the existing garden apartments
  • A new Independent Living apartment building with 70 one and two bedroom units averaging 1,281 SF
  • Underbuilding structured parking garage with 70 spaces
  • Retrofitting, re-purposing, and finish upgrades of approximately 13,000 SF of the existing commons building
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project consisted of a new stand alone, single-story Type 5A skilled nursing home facility. Construction included site preparation, utilities, wood framed construction, slab on grade, concrete foundations, vinyl siding, asphalt paving, asphalt shingles and EPDM roofing, interior finishes, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression. A Nurse Call System and a Secure Care System were also installed, which are unique to the building.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

New Construction of Continuing Care Retirement Community on a 16-acre site. Buildings include Parkside (6-story, 130,000 SF building with 90 one and two bedroom independent living apartments, dining room, bistro, library, theater, art and activity rooms, fitness center, billiard room, private dining room, postal center, banking services, carports and patio terrace); Bishop Place Assisted Living Center (61 one bedroom and studio apartments); Special Care Center for Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care (40 studio apartments); and Ridge Homes (16 one  and two bedroom independent living patio homes).

Project Description

Elford is working with National Church Residences on the repositioning of their Upper Arlington First Community Village. This project includes a new entry drive with a guide house and improved signage. The new facility will consist of 70 one and two bedroom independent living units with an underbuilding parking structure for 70 vehicles. A renovation of an existing 13,000 SF commons building is also included and an 8,000 SF wellness facility.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

49-acre elder care campus with 52 twin-single homes and 201,000 SF Village Square complex, a three-story building with 54 independent living apartments, assisted living facility, including 20 memory care units and 18 assisted living units, wellness center, therapy department, restaurant, banquet room, bank, art studio, library and underground parking garage. This challenging project features a pond running under a portion of the Village Square building; the pond is a central feature of the Village Square courtyard that the apartments surround. 70% of the facility has a view of the pond. Elford’s value engineering efforts kept project costs within the Owner’s budget.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Elford managed the multi-phased, occupied facility, interior demolition and construction of the Forum at Knightsbridge’s Healthcare Wing. The campus also includes a full-service senior living community offering elegantly furnished apartments for independent and assisted living, Five Star’s award-winning Bridge to Rediscovery Alzheimer’s care program and an onsite health center for skilled nursing care/rehabilitation and respite/short stays.

The healthcare wing received upgrades to 40 resident rooms, the kitchen and dining room. Features of the building included an expansion to the dining room and an addition of a Bistro, a therapy area, a living and activity area and a bathing suite.
